Resolved Question: What do you guys think about “outside dogs”? |
Just curious to see others’ opinions. I’m not talking about animal abuse or neglect situations. I mean those who do get food and water and shelter, but are kept tied or kenneled outside all the time.I personally don’t like it..I think dogs are pack animals and are only happy being part of the family. I also feel as though most outside dogs do not get the proper attention, exercise, training, or socialization but I guess some people may do those things. My friend has a golden retriever puppy (maybe about 6 months old) who has not been inside the house since the first days she got him at 2 months old. I hate it but don’t say anything. The dog does have a big shed to itself and gets food and water and everything, and I know they used to walk him daily at first but I doubt they continued. I have two 9 month old puppies and can’t imagine leaving them out like that. I think for some people it depends on how they were raised with animals. My friend’s dog growing up was kept outside as well so I guess that’s what she knows and probably doesn’t think anything of it.What do you think and what would you say to those on the opposite side?Wow a ton of answers so far! Oh but Rita, yes I am pretty positive she doesn’t walk him daily and perhaps should have used a different word. But considering not you or anyone else knows me or her to start gossip I’ll keep my “doubt” thank you.
