Open Question: How come my dog is going pee and poo on my bed?

I have a 7 month old Boston Terrier. She is potty trained to a certain extent right now. She does not pee or poop in the house when we are there, but during the day she’ll have a couple mishaps. Last week my dog peed on my bed, I assumed this was because I had just bought a new bed spread. Then I would say about two days later right in front of my she peed again on my bed, this time I caught her in the act and made it clear to her this was not okay. Last night my dog peed and pooped on my bed again. I was under the impression that dogs do not usually pee or poo where they sleep or eat??? Do you know what she is trying to say or do by this??

Open Question: Vick used family pets and thought it was “funny” when the dogs died?

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Michael Vick put family pets in rings with pit bulls and thought it was funny watching the trained killers injure or kill the helpless dogs, a witness told federal investigators during the dogfighting investigation that brought Vick down. The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, once the highest paid player in the NFL, has been suspended indefinitely by the league and his football future is uncertain. He’s also in the midst of bankruptcy proceedings with $16 million in assets and $20.4 million in liabilities. The dogs were killed by shooting, hanging, electrocution and drowning, and in at least one instance, according to one of the witnesses, when Vick and Phillips killed a red pit bull by “slamming it to the ground several times before it died, breaking the dog’s back or neck.”http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8830380/Witness:-Vick-thought-it-’funny’-when-dogs-died?MSNHPHMA

Open Question: Got bit by a rottweiler.?

Last Friday I was walking down to the bus stop. On my way there a lady and her dog was walking towards me on the sidewalk. When I got closer she told the dog to sit. It was a big dog so i walked of the sidewalk on the grass to go around the dog. Thats when the dog bit the front side of my ankle. The lady didn’t have any tension on the leash. The lady didn’t say any thing she just pulled the dog back. I didn’t think it was bad and I didn’t think of getting the ladies name. I was just trying to catch the bus so I wouldn’t be late for work. Once I got to the bus stop I check out my leg and it broke the skin. So when I got to work my wife (medic) told me I have to get it looked at. So I went to the clinic (Army Airfield) and the nurse and Dr. told me how bad it could get and told me to go off post to a hospital emergency room. Just to make sure it was okay. So I did and they cleaned it up more and dressed it and told me just to look out for infection. And to come back if it did. But I did file a statment with the MP. Later in the day I got a call back from the owner of the dog. It turns out he is also a MP (military Police). He apologized for what the dog did. But this should have never happened in the first place. A rottweiler should be trained if his going out on a public side walk. I missed half of days work running around because of this. I can see the holes where the dog bit me in my pants and socks. But I was lucky I walked around the dog else it would have been worse. I can see the teeth marks where he got my leg they look like scratches when I pulled away so he pinched my leg real good and broke the skin. So it just swelled up and looks like a bad scrap with scratches around it. If this was you would you take more legal actions. Maybe get a lawyer. What do you think?

Resolved Question: Is it better to get a male or female of a Boxer / German Shephard dog, while planning to buy a puppy ? ?

Does gender makes any difference with the training or either of these 2 breeds or when they grow up within the family ? Is it true or a myth that a female dog is more obedient than a male dog ?

Open Question: question about a german Shepard’s eating habits.?

i know someone with a german shepard, the other day, they say to the dog, “you can only have water today, you can eat tomorrow” i asked them about this and told them it was cruel. there reply was that they are trained for this, even the vet said it was good not to feed them everyday. i just dont seem to believe this, the dog is skinny for its size. if it helps, this dog is supposed to be being trained to be a rescue animal, but yet it still jumps on people and knocks them down. (the guy has had it for over 6 months)also he leaves it tied to his vehicle when he is at work, and the dog has chewed up the step sides on his truck.. there is no aspca or humane society around here (small town, cant afford it) is this reportable, if so, who to report it to? several of our coworkers have noticed how skinny this dog is, it is not emancipated, but you can see the ribs..

Open Question: How to better our chances of someone choosing us to occupy their house up for lease? Tips or suggestions? HELP?

We live in an area where homes for rent are very few for some reason and it is VERY hard to get into anything because of all the other ppl looking for rentals. Population for the 15 mile radius is about 100,000+ so it’s pretty tough. Our first issue is pets. We have 2 tiny chihuahuas and a medium sized dog. They’re great dogs and are potty trained - how do we convince ppl that they do not need to worry? We are expecting our son next month and are going to be forced to rent becuase the building on our house has taken much longer than promised. How do we convince someone that we are a great choice? When in all honesty we really are. We dont party, our income is at about $100k a year, my husbands credit is average but mine is great. We are early to mid 20’s.Another problem - a lot of places want references. He rented his sisters place for years while she was away at college and I dont know if they will look at that as a very reliable reference, you know? My problem - My ex bf bought a house and I helped pay the mortgage although I wasn’t a purchaser of the home. I absolutely despise him and he pretty much wants to murder my husband (for some unknown reason lol) so that reference is out the window as well.Help??!!

Open Question: Is my dog fully grown?

I’m planning on training my German Shepherd X to be in agility competitions, but i’ve been told not to begin training until she is fully grown. She is 3 years so she’s just leaving puppy hood. From her chest to the beginning of her tail, its 71cm and from her chin to the ground is 55cm.I’m almost sure that she isn’t going to grow any more but just in case she’s not, I don’t want to damage any of her bones. If that is all she is going to grow, what is a good height for her to jump?

Open Question: How to pick a shelter puppy?

I am planning to adopt a shelter puppy, not an adult. I know what size, looks, and breeds I like. What other things should I look for health and behavior wise, and what should I avoid. I will need a dog that can get along with other dogs and be trained to accept cats - as I have a dog and 2 cats. I do not think the shelters I am going to temperament test.

Open Question: My dog still isn’t potty trained,?

Ha it’s horrible, he’s nine months and still pees/poops in the house. We train him to do his business outside and he doesn’t take that long of a time to find a territory but still. When he does do it in the house, we get mad at him, and my mom puts him for timeouts and yells at him (LOL;]) but he’s still not understanding? We’ve been trying to get him to do his business outside for more than 6 months now. Any suggestions about what we should do? Don’t tell me to take him to petco and get him trained and all that mumbo jumbo or to make him pee on a pad (those make the house smell REALLY bad)The thing is, he mostly does his business in the house when we ARE home. We leave him alone for about three hours (when my dad leaves at 12 and i get back from school at 3) and we come home to see that he hasn’t peed or pooped inside so we take him out immediately and he pees/poops. But when we’re home, he pees/poops in the house. Sometimes he just stands infront of the door not making a sound, thinking that we know he has to go outside. He’s un undescribable dog. That’s possibly true Shanna :) But we do exactly what you’re saying except for the watching like a hawk part. Most of the time, our eyes are on him, but we let the dog be alone too, freely. And when he’s about to do his business inside, we rush him outside and yes we have a praising parade when he does it outside.gah yes he’s fixed and of course we thoroughly clean the floor.
