Open Question: What’s the best way to teach my dog how to jump through a hoop? |
My dog is a 13-month-old golden retriever female and I need to teach her to jump through a hula hoop suspended about a foot or two in the air for a psychology project about behavior modification and conditioning. I plan on teaching her with JUST a reward (dog treat) not punishment. If I have a little under a month to do this, how should I go about training her? The only “trick” she knows is how to sit, so she doesn’t have much experience in training (nor do I). How often should I work with her- how long each day? Thanks!
