OK first he is a pretty much a well behaved dog except for a few things that have become really annoying! Let me explain first that these behaviors have started since I’ve been pregnant. What he does is really weird and I don’t get it! The number one thing he is doing is acting almost scared of me and I have never hurt him! He won’t come to me and if I try to hold him he shakes. Now on the other hand if I play with the cats he get jealous and will actually push them off me and begin to bully them. He never hurts them its more like very ruff play! I have tried being really sweet and he just looks at me like I’m evil incarnate! I have even tried treats which have worked a little but not enough! He is closest to my husband and only notices me during the day when he needs me to let him out or feed him. My husband showers him with attention and I was wondering if that was causing some of the behavior? I think some of it has to do with upcoming baby and didn’t know if dogs know these things before we do! He also barks like crazy at any dog and is very scared of other dogs! To the point he becomes aggressive toward dogs! I must stress he has never shown aggression toward humans unless the cowering and fear of me is considered aggression! I just don’t get it because I have never hurt him! Today I was trying to work with him and was holding him and talking to him quietly trying not to encourage fear! Then he peed on me!!! My husband said he had to pee! I don’t buy that and I think he was marking me or something like that! He is house trained and does not do his business in the house. He is a year and a few months old! His breed is a Feist! Its similar to a Rat Terrier! I really don’t want to have to get rid of him. He is house trained and in general is very loving because I have two older kids 10 and 8 and he plays with them too! My children love him! Since this behavior has started since I got pregnant and has only gotten worse as I get closer to D-day I was thinking it had to do with the baby! Almost like a kid like jealousy! That I am worried will be worse after baby is finally here. Its like he is throwing tantrums that a small kid would do in protest of the new family member! I was hoping for idea’s and things my husband and I can do to change this behavior! Also I didn’t know if anyone else had heard of dog behavior changing during pregnancy like this or similar!
