Open Question: What can I do about my golden retriever?

We got a golden retriever about 5-6 months ago, he’s around 7-8 months old at the moment, and he is acting almost insane. We take him on walks(should probably take him on more but everyone has jobs and we do our best,) we always feed him when he’s hungry, and we treat him great. The main problem is he is STILL biting at our hands/feed/clothes, and since he’s growing to be a pretty big dog his bites HURT. We’ve tried the whole “YELP!” or scream whenever he bites, doesn’t work. We’ve tried holding his tongue down, doesn’t work. We’ve tried ignoring the biting/barks till he goes away, doesn’t work.We honestly don’t know what to do, we potty trained him and he does fine now with that, and he sleeps SO well at night. He will sleep from 11pm until 8am/9am the next day, with no problems. But during the evening(around dinner time), he is absolutely insane, biting us(never broke skin, but annoying nonetheless,) barking, chasing our cats, running back and forth. When is this behavior supposed to stop for a puppy, is it normal(even for a golden retriever?) We also got him fixed a couple months ago, thinking it might calm him down, and it didn’t at all.I’m just looking for ANY help at all with this before we have to get rid of the dog. :( He’s a 7month old golden retriever, thanks in advanced for the help!
