Open Question: What are some of the best companion type dogs? |
Well, I currently have a Husky. Although his beauty is amazing, he did not fill the void that my previous dog (passed away) held.I don’t care what size, what color or what breed but I want to find a friend in a dog…not one who will ignore me frequently or only for something he wants.One that does not require too much exercise would be good. I’ve heard about the Golden Retriever (currently #1 on my list) and the yellow lab (#2)…but I’d like to hear other opinions (not saying these don’t require exercise).In companion I mean a dog with personality who will stay loyal (I know this takes training, but I mean more naturally than others…preferably dogs who are known to be “loyal”). This includes enjoying/staying around my presence, being closer to me than others when friends/family are over and just capable of taking out in public and him not acting like he doesn’t know me (ala my husky). I’d like one that really grows on his “master” too…but still friendly to people and animals.You should get a feel for what I’m looking for, lemme know, thanks
