Open Question: Putting my dog up for adoption in So Cal …. I am devastated!?

We are having our first baby in less than 2 months and we have to give one of our dogs up for adoption. We have had him for 5 years and unfortunately he is very dog aggressive. He tolerates our other dog but is always dominant and constantly picking on him and getting into serious scary fights. He cannot even walk outside on leash because of his aggression and he cannot share toys with the other dog because of his aggression. We have sought medical help, obedience training, and anything you can imagine to correct this but we’re at a dead end now. I want to know how people got through this. He is the MOST loving dog to people. He will sit and lick you for hours and hours. Anyone who meets him is instantly in love with him. I cry every night thinking about giving him up. I have yet to find someone I know who will adopt him so now I have to go to an adoption facility in Southern California. I know I will be hysterical, but I have to do it. Anyone else been through this?
