Open Question: my two dogs aggression ? |
I have a Pit and a Bull terrier. both are fixed. we have owned the pit for over a year. we just recently got the bull terrier pup 4 weeks ago. the pit has never shown aggression towards any other dogs cats kids or any one. the pit has been with tons of other dogs and loved them even other pits that were not fixed. the other day the pit lunged at the pup. it scared us but the pit did nothing else. naturally as soon as we saw the lunge we corrected the pit. the next day the pit attacked the pup. the pup is fine but the pit would not let go of him even when i scolded and grabbed the back of his neck. i had to get on top of the pit he then let go of the pup. i corrected the pit. and then looked after the pup he is fine no harm. still we have not allowed the pit and the pup alone again even for a second. we just found out that the pup is extremely sick my question is this. can the pups sickness be a cause for aggression from the pit?? the pit is well trained and has shown no aggression to ANY animal or person before. we try to show the dogs equal amounts of attention and love. the pit is fed before the pup. the pit is let in before the pup. if you can help please do.
