Open Question: My older shih tzu is annoyed by my new shih tzu puppy…? |
I have a two year old shih tzu who is usually totally friendly with other dogs even when they are in his space. I recently got a 10 week old shih tzu female and every since I brought her home he is so mean to her. I tried to introduce them and it was okay until a day or so later when he started marking territory (he’s already house trained), and his mood changed from his normal friendly self to a very reserved one. Is there a way to get them to be nicer to each other? Every time she comes around he either walks away or growls at her when she licks him. Oh, he also does not like to play with her nor does he want her to play with his toys. She pounced on his chew toy the other day and he all but attacked her. Will they grow out of this as she begins to get older and calms down?
