Open Question: My dog doesn’t like to and isn’t bred to….?

work in obedience. They are supposed to be guard, herding or couch potatoes…The breeder told my they would NOT do well in obedience because they are ‘stubborn”independent’ and are not ‘suppose’ to listen, have no desire to learn and the ‘dog’ when I tell s/he to sit doesn’t see the point in doing so…So, what I would like to know isDo you think that owners are lazy and because the breed doesn’t’ like’ to work they shouldn’t make them? is it a matter of the owners finding the right motivation for the dog to make him WANT to work? Do you just give up on training your dog because ‘that is the way they are’?I think that every dog has the ability to learn and do what you ask them to do and it doesn’t matter what they were bred to do…Your opinions?
