Open Question: Is it possible to have a dog trained and certified as a therapy dog to help me with depression? |
I am diagnosed with depression and I have found that animals really help elevate my symptoms. I find them to be very therapeutic and would like to share this with other people. One of the issues is I live in an apartment because I am on disability and probably always will be. They don’t allow dogs, but I would really like to have one and I have heard that therapy dogs are allowed anywhere. If I could get a dog I would like to get him all the appropriate training and also bring him to visit nursing homes and children in hospitals. Are there any laws or training programs available for this?
