Open Question: I have bought a Pac shock collar and need to know….?

I have spent a lot of time training my 10 month old (40kg) German shepherd to stop chasing and biting our Labrador. She was once an outgoing lively girl but since we got Dax she is now timid and shies away when other dogs approach. He cannot help himself… As soon as she runs he goes after her and grabs her by the back end and pulls her down (at the same time growling etc). He is now starting to do the same to other dogs and only this week did it to a 3 month old pup who was yelping and screeching, he still didn’t stop (must add he didn’t hurt it but more so frightened it). I have taken him to classes, had a personal trainer, did command and reward, long line training, throwing the ball separately, giving them a ball each etc, I even paid £88 for a spray collar (useless) you name it I’ve tried it. I’ve done everything to try and avoid a shock collar to no avail. My point is that I have bought a Pac shock collar and need to know how long I ‘condition’ him to wearing it before I actually put it into practice??? He has had a ‘dummy collar’ on for 24 hours and I also have been wearing the remote around my neck for the same amount of time. The book says leave him wear the dummy collar for 10 days before I actually use the real thing but would like to hear of other ppls experiences please.Without prejudice, please do not lecture me on how cruel etc I am, the love of my dogs is paramount but I feel the way he is heading, he won’t be around long if I don’t take some serious action now.
