Open Question: how to stop barking without a collar…? |
i have an 18 month old chocolate lab that we adopted when he was 9 months. he is not an excessive barker, and i have no problem when he barks once in a while to communicate with other dogs. my problem is when he 1) barks in the car when we get close to our destination 2) barks at my mother in laws house with her dogs that he wants to play with that dont want to play with him and 3) when he barks at us because he wants attention. we have considered getting him a bark collar. my only concern is that he will only respond to it when it is around his neck. i dont want him to wear the bark collar all the time. what can we do to train him to stop barking when it is inappropriate??
