Open Question: How much does Neutering cost? |
My vet is telling me its $325.00 to Neuter my male american pit bull terrier after 1 year.. And wants to Neuter him sooner..(he turns 1 year in 2 weeks) but i want to wait to neuter him till hes 1 year and a half. Because testosterone controls the closing of the growth plates in the longer bones…specifically legs. If you neuter early they can sometimes grow a bit taller than normal…it only takes a little bit to cause possible problems. Waiting will also help ligaments grow stronger and could prevent possible hip dysplasia that is more common in larger dogs. These are the two main reasons I am holding off. I know some will disagree but these are known circumstances.I am a responsible owner and i do not let my dog roam and he is properly trained and is easy to control and such..So anywho.. back to the question, how much does prices usually cost to get a 1 1/2 year fixed? Is my vet ripping me off with a $300+ nuetor?Also, is their any type of chance of my pit dieing from this ? because i REALLY LOVE HIM and he is really like a son to me.. i am only 17 years old and im REALLY attached to him..
