Open Question: How does one break a chihuahua’s chewing habit? |
We have a female chihuahua shes very sweet and well loved, gets along well with all other pets including our own. We have had her since she was 3 mos old she is now 10 months has all her adult teeth was spayed about 1 month ago. She started younger with shoe chewing, we had her wear a sandal and broke her of that about 3 months ago, she now chews doggie toys…all of them. She has been potty trained since she was 5 months, has been to dog training and responses well to all commands. During the night last night for some unknown reason she chewed up the corner of one of our chairs (we got new furniture last yr)…I am livid and ready to give her away. It can be fixed but what will she do next time that cannot be fixed is what worries us. (locking her up at night won’t work as she screeches and barks all night long and she has never had to be locked up) Is there a way to break her of such a habit, if so I would appreciate any help as she is a member of our family and it would breal our hearts to give her up. Plz help, Thanks for any help
