Open Question: How do I get my sisters dogs to stop barking @ me? |
My sister comes into town every couple of weeks and she always brings her two female dogs…Well every time I enter a room where they, are they start barking @ me. Even if I walk quietly past the room they are in, they still bark at me, even when the door is shut!! They don’t bark at my dad, or anyone else for that matter. I can be sitting with them and walk into the kitchen and 2 minutes later when I return they start barking at me. They bark for a minute then stop..until I exit and re-enter the room and they’re at it again! I’ve never done anything to harm them in any way. I’ve been around these dogs since they were puppies. When she comes to town I always give them treats and play with them to reacquaint myself with them in hopes that they won’t feel threatened and bark the rest of the weekend. We’ve had a few theories, possible my hat? So I take my hat off but nothing changes. I’m not big or threatening looking or anything. I just don’t understand it. My sister lives alone, maybe these dogs are threatened my males..why not my dad? He’s bigger than me!! Its really becoming a nuisance and I want to try to understand why they are doing this so we can train them to stop. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated as this is really getting on everyone’s nerves
