Open Question: HELP! Advice needed! May have to give up my dog for birth of my child. ? |
I’m pregnant with our first child and am thinking of putting my dog up for adoption. I have 2 dogs and a cat. One of the dogs is a pug/beagle (puggle) mix and is super high maintenance. He needs so much attention each and every day. The puggle doesn’t let the other dog receive affection or eat much without getting in the way. I took his to a few training classes, 5 different vets, and 2 “pet psychics”. He has been diagnosed with “abandonment syndrome”. If he’s left alone for more than 5 minutes he rips things up, chewed a hole in the wall, and barks non-stop. He’s been this way since the day that I got him when he was 6 weeks, he didn’t become this way. I LOVE him soooo much and would HATE to see him go to another home, but I just can’t work full-time, be a mom, take care of 2 other animals, and this dog. I would like to hear fro other mom’s who had to make the same painful decision, and how did you feel about it later? Did you regret it? I don’t know what I’m going to do so far.
