Open Question: Dog has started peeing in the house? |
I have a 6 year old female Bichon Frise and within the past week she’s decided to start peeing all over our mudroom. ( The reason she pees in the mudroom is because that’s where the front door is.) My mom has scolded her. (I’m against that because we’ve never caught her in the act of peeing- so she doesn’t know if mom doesn’t like the pee on the carpet or mom doesn’t like her peeing on the carpet.) But she KNOWS she’s been doing wrong when she does it. She’s spayed and has never had puppies if that matters. Recently she peed and I took one of those puppy training pads to soak up the pee then I put it on the mudroom floor but she just peed on the other side of the room. What could this be? She’s acting the same and only pees when we leave at night. She doesn’t pee on the floor when we leave for school and work or when we’re in the house. Well, I have 6 pets currently and she’s the first. She was around three years then all the other animals came into play. In the past year I’ve gotten 2 gerbils, a ferret, and a hamster- she really doesn’t like it when I play with the ferret and currently when I play with the hamster she wants to hunt it- you know- instinct. We let her out in the morning before we leave, she is also let out right before bedtime and whenever we’re home and she wants to go out she gets to go out. We go out at night on a regular basis- she does realize that we can’t be home all the time and the cat helps keep her company- they lay together on the bed, haha
