Open Question: Dog chases after cars? |
How can i get my dog to stop chaseing after cars. We use to be a dead end by woods, and we use to walk her without the leash, for all 3 1/2 years of her life, until now. They cut down some of the woods, and we are not a dead end. On this 50 mph road, cars come through as high as 50 mph or more. We are worried when she accidently gets out. And she won’t go to the bathroom when she is connected to the leash, for some weird reason. And so my dad lets go and lets her loss, and so far we have been lucky, either the car stops in time, or we chase her and get her when we see a car coming around the corner. It scares me. How do we get her to stop. I just walked her, and a few cars passed, but the last 1 we saw she tried to dart at it, straight on too. I think if i did not have the leash on that it would not have ended the way it did. It just scares me. She is such a small dog, but is chaseing the biggest thing. How do i get her to stop. What is a good way to train her. Thanks. P.S. We tried the whole thing that we go out on the leash, stay on the leash, and wait for her to go. And if she did not oh well, she could go the next walk, but everytime we do that, we get in side, 5 min later, she looks straight up at us, and goes right on the floor, and runs to her cage, (we put her in the cage when she goes to the bathroom on the floor for 5 min.) Like she is messing with us are something. And then we let her out, she puts her head down, like she is upset, And slowly walks out of the cage, she is afraid of us after she gets in trouble (but the worst we do is raise our voice and say cage) Then i will make her say she is sorry with a kiss on my cheek, i will tell her don’t do that again(lol, she prob does not know what i am saying though) And send her on her way to roam around the house. LOL. I love my doggy so much =) I don’t want to see her get hurt.
