Open Question: Building Confidence in a very shy dog..? |
We rescued a German Shepherd/Husky two weeks ago, and she is very, very shy. She barely comes to me, and she comes to no one else in my family. She goes to the bathroom in the house, even if I’m in the other room for a minute. We started putting her in a crate but for some reason when I came home her nose was swollen like she have put her nose through the bars. Yesterday she got stuck in the railing on my deck and would have fallen at least 8 feet if I didn’t run out and pull her back up. Today I put her outside to clean the mess she made, and she was on top on the railing trying to jump over it. If she’s outside with one of the other dogs she seems okay. She afraid of any loud noise, people, cars, bikes, everything. Please give me some tips, We are going to take her to training classes later on but I need to know what we can do till then.Thanks.
