Open Question: Animal shelter behavior/health question?

The “Pitbull Love Gone Too Far?” question got me thinking:If your local animal shelter will spend gobs of money rehabilitating a sick or injured animal (my shelter once spent $4500 on a dog that had both knees replaced) for adoption, why won’t it spend money re-training aggressive dogs? If you believe human-aggressive dogs can be rehabbed, why do you think your shelter won’t do it?Or does your shelter rehab human-aggressive dogs? How do they go about it and how much do they spend? What’s their success rate? I mean- PERMANENT homes for rehabbed biters? Thanks in advance!EDIT: Oh, while you’re here, will you please go here:http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Am40jNlosI3WJlE95aYymOjsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081031094227AAHQcNpand sign the petition for soldier’s animals? THANK YOU!!!
