I am going to be moving after thanksgiving about three hours away (i am 18 and moving to take an apprenticeship). I am going to take my dog with me. my first question is will my dog and my mom’s dog go into depression and if so, how long will it take for them to get out of it?anyway, i am moving to take an apprenticeship training assistance dogs. a dog – between 4 months and a year old lab or golden mix – will live with me. my dog gets along with most dogs but can be territorial. i am hoping that being somewhere he has never been before will help. but, what will be the best way to introduce the dogs? should i take him for a long walk before hand? i really want to be able to keep my dog with me but i will leave him at home with my mom if i have to. should i teach him basic commands before the new dog comes? should i teach my dog the same things that i teach the other dog as it goes through training? any advice?my dog is a spaniel mix that weighs 65 lbs. i have had him about a year but he is between 2-3 yrs old. we adopted him from a shelter.
