How do I stop my dog from scratching? |

I treated her for fleas and I don’t see any on her, but she will not stop scratching. I have some over the counter medication to releive itching and hot spots, but it doesn’t seem to be working. She has sores all over. What do I do?

She might just be scratching the old bites. Just see if she stops scratching once most of them are healed.
My dog scratches a lot too even though she has no signs of fleas. So just wait it out and see if she stops scratching.
my dog did that also and he was allergic to some thing in the iiams i was feeding him. try another food i recommend nutro max it is all natural and it is very good for them. it is a little bit more expensive but its worth a try.
take her to the vet she may have dog eczema which is actually quite common but the vet know what is wrong when they see her. good luck
Take her to a vet and find out if she has a skin condition. Some of the products you buy are not designed to help rare skin conditions.
It might also be allergies. My dog was very very sensitive during the allergy season. When we took her in, the doctor told us to just use regular over the counter Benedryl pills. Just one pill in the am and one in the afternoon. She was fine after a few days. Check with your doc.
It could be mange, you need to see a vet and get a skin scraping. It could also be a food allergy, wheat is a common allergen to dogs, get on a high quality diet, do your research.
It could be allergies, it could be thyroid, it could be just dry skin. It’s always best to have it diagnosed by a professional. We can give you all kinds of theories, but we cannot physically see your dog, so it’s hard to tell. Please have her checked out by your vet and treat her symptoms properly….it sounds like she’s going nuts!
Ye if you gave her a good wash in a good brand of
flea shampoo then treat her with flea killer and also
comb her with a nit comb used for hair lice these should
stop your dog from scratching.I had to do these three
things before she was cured .Get flea spray and shampoo
from the vet,they are more expensive than over the counter
stuff and miles better.
, Most fleas are cats fleas or sand fleas- then if your dog if flea free she may have had a allergy to the bites, many dogs have allergy’s - also in the weather hot our cold your dogs skin could be dry ,,try feeding it some raw egg once in a while and lessen the baths -unless you can get a great moisturizing rinse from your vet- also feed high protein food .
evrytime u c her scratching tell her 2 stop[walk over and put her leg down, but calling her name will mostly stop her and make her concentrate on wat your saying] and wen her scabs heal and she stops then it was just scabs that were healing and she didnt get recovered
Take her to teh vets tehere may be an underlying problem or some kind of allergy.
Teh vet can do test and determine what is going on.teh people here can only guess and if you keep treating with all kinds of things it can either cause more problems or make the dog immune to certain treatments.
