We jsut moved into a new house, and we can’t have him scratching.
We taught him to hit a bell, but he can’t do that either anymore.
If i cant find a way to get him to stop, then we have to give him away. PLease tell me what i can do to stop this.
he is a puggle(pug/beagle mix) Thank you!

get him a doggie door then he can go in & out on his own.
Allow your dog free roam of the house. If you do not want him roaming around put him in a crate but don’t leave him in there for a long time.
Do you trim his nails? If not, I would suggest trimming his nails. If you do not know how, take him to a groomer or the vet and have them show you how to clip his nails.
What if you try to distract him with toys? He’s probably just smelling so many new smells since you just moved. I wouldnt give him away just because of this issue. It sounds like something that can be worked with. I think you need to distract him from doing it. Give him toys/bones etc. Maybe keep a leash on him so when you see him doing it you can correct him by pulling the leash and saying no. You could also contact a dog behaviourist/trainer and see what they have to say.
Does he scratch his body or the furniture? If he’s scratching himself, dry skin. He needs to go to the vet. If he’s scratching the furniture, get him some chew toys.
Dogs scratch for a variety of reasons. Maybe he is bored. Try taking him on more walks, or train him to do some tricks. Sometimes the scratch because they are having allergies, like humans do. Try switching foods. Give him a Benadryl mixed in with some food.
