Help!!!! Last christmas we bought my daughter a chiuahua he is the sweetest dog very protective of her. He waits at the door until she gets home from school and sleeps with her at night and will growl and bark if anyone comes near her. We have two problems though he pees and poos anywhere he wants on my living room couch, under my other kids beds.(he won’t go under my daughters bed or on any of her stuff though) it is getting very irritating, frustrating, and gross. How do we make him go outside? Next problem is anytime anyone is over we have to lock him in the restroom cuz he won’t stop barking and growling at them. She wants to take him on walks with us but i’m afraid of him barking at people along the way, it’s embarassing. He normally doesn’t bark at other dogs though just people. Why does he do this and how can I fix these problems? I haven’t the slightest clue on how to train a dog.She does baby him a lot. And we only gave him to her for Christmas last year because she had been begging for a chiuahua for two years. And she is really good at spending time with him feeding and watering. Thanks for all the advice on potty training. Any suggestions on how to get him to be nice to people? Tommy Macaroni is one. Is it to late to train him now do we have any hope?

My bf wants to buy him a German Shepard, Newfoundland, or pit bull. we talked about small animals like ferrets or geckos that would be easier ot take care of and he could watch them and we wouldn’t have ot put them outside every hour, potty train them, worry about them chewing stuff. Which would you buy for a 3 year old. a dog, a ferret or a gecko

lacy is a 7 month old mixed breed (cocker spaniel &jack russell)she has had a few issues in the past with play aggression and guarding the sofa once she was on it . we have dealt with this matter by taking her and ourselves to training classes (that did not go to well)but it has taught us how to get results with her but now a new issue has arisen with her and its most embarrassing. she hates other dogs to approach me to be stroked even her friends over the park get told of by her if they come near me(within stroking distance) she gets very aggressive to the other dogs I feel that she thinks i am her property and i need to know how to reassure her that the dogs are not a threat to me or herapart from this she is normally a very obedient little pup but this i feel must be stopped but any tips on how?

My cousin, let’s call her Jamie, told me a couple of months ago that she had a job opportunity in another state. She said she found him on the internet, and at first I wasn’t too suspicious. One day she was at my place and asked me if she could check her mail - she typed in her username and password, and hit “remember” so it saved - and when her inbox opened, it was full of e-mails from that guy, calling her “my sweet boy” and detailing all the things he wanted to “do to him” when she got there. She closed out the window immediately, but when she left, I looked through her e-mail, and it turns out she met him on a bondage website and wanted to be a live-in slave in order to pay off her college loans. Not two weeks later, she told me she had a new business opportunity from online, and naturally I was suspicious and checked on it. Again she’s pretending to be a boy and trying to sell herself as a slave in order to pay off her loans. The man she’s trying to go live with now is 40-something years old, and is trying to tell her that her family hates her, that she should kill her dog, and various other things. I’m terrified for her safety. She plans to buy a train ticket to go live with him next week, halfway across the country. This is just some guy she’s never met and barely knows. Background info here - my cousin is an adult, but she has the mind of a young child, and doesn’t understand the danger of what she is doing. She used to be taking medication that helped her greatly, but when she ran out and it was her responsibility to get more, she ceased taking it. She’s not insane, but something’s not quite right upstairs, and I love her to death - I don’t want her to come home in a coffin, you know?Is there ANYTHING I can do, or anything her family can do to keep her from going? Or do we just have to let her go and hope she’s okay?Cousin is 20 years old and was adopted by her grandparents because her biological parents were unfit to care for her.Yes I know it was nosy to go through her inbox, but had I not, she might already be dead or held captive with the first guy… I’m afraid for her.

I have had Missy (my JRT) since she was 9 weeks. She is 4 1/2 months now and I am having SUCH a hard time potty training her! I have tried all of the advice I have been given such as crate training, putting her nose in it, praising her, treats, etc. I am frustrated. I will taker her outside and she will almost always go, and then ill bring her back in and she will literally go in the house. Also, she stays in the crate at night and we let her out what seems to be reasonable. But when we take her out and she doesn’t act like she has to go, she will come back in and pee inside her crate. I feel like I am giving her a bath way too much because she lays in her pee all the time. I am constantly cleaning up after her! What else can I do? Any advice would be appreciated! Also, I though dogs didn’t like laying in their pee? Her crate is the right size for her also.
