Standing outside in the freezing cold or pouring rain waiting for your dog to pee is no fun. Learn how you can train your dog to go on command.

  1. haha thats great.. smart dog :)

  2. They scratch to smear scent it makes other dogs think she’s much bigger than she is. You can reward her right away. Hopefully though she’s not like my dog she will go out once to go poop get a treat, then beg to go out again to pee, she will actually do it again for another treat.

  3. my dog just sits there and stares at me the whole time i have to get up at 6:30 everyday and its frezzing outside and the damn pooche just sits there

  4. hurry up lol

  5. My dog usually likes to scratch the ground after she’s pooped – she will squat, do her business, then stand up, circle once and scratch several times. Do I reward her immediately after she finishes the poop, or wait for her to be done scratching?

  6. im going to try that. my dog keeps using the bathroom on the floor when she knows where her peep/poop pad is. she’ll use the peep pad in front of me but when i let her roam or leave her with my mom i find poop on the bare floor. i hate when she dose that.

  7. I don’t know… My puppy I got last Thursday peed on the Carpet twice on the day we got her… Now she’s off of the training pad and just whines when she has to go outside.

  8. Thanks SO much for these videos! We adopted a dog today from the SPCA, and I need them! Though our dog is very well-behaved, I still have a lot to learn, as I have only had cats.

(PS – I very much recommend adopting a dog, as opposed to a puppy! She was already well-house-trained, and we knew exactly what her personality was like, since we walked her and spoke with the volunteers about her, etc. It has been easy. And there are so many dogs in need of a home.)

  9. I like that!

  10. why even use words that make sense why not
    magic biscuit
or somthing that will never be said

  12. Housetraining is 95% management. Don’t give your dog the opportunity to go on your rug. Always keep a close eye in your dog. Don’t reward your dog for going on the rug.

    Good luck! Eric

  13. HELP! Since I tried this, my 5 month old Chihuahua will now ONLY poop on the rug.

  14. After you puppy gets used to getting a treat when they go to the bathroom, you slowly ween them off the treats.

  15. Okay I have some questions about this video…you says to reward our dogs with a treat…what happens if there stuck on wanting a treat all the time they use the bathroom. Do we keep feeding them treats or do we stop at a point through the training? And also how are we supposed to when to take a dog out for bathroom time? And also, what are we to do when they use the bathroom on the floor of the house? Im so sorry for all the questions but i would like to know because Im trainimg my dog now!!!

  16. This was informative. I’ve been trying the same kind of thing with my Jack Russell. I live in Tokyo, so things are a bit different. Dogs must be on a leash at all times, so that’s not a problem. My problem is that she will usually wait till she’s outside before she ‘goes’, but if she can’t hold it, she’ll go on the floor inside, whereas she used to automatically go to the toilet sheet. Basically, she used to be house trained until she learned to go outside. Now I have to retrain her.

  17. Men, you are amazing, Tks a lot for all the videos, i have had all my life Pastores Alemanes, i believe is German Shepherd… or something like that, and now i have been given a Pitbull Tks a lot again.

  18. excellent advice my ppuppy is doing it and he is only 4 months old…

  19. Thanks so much, this is actually something i may teach my dog, your tips arived in alberta

  20. Thanks Eric! Your tips arrived to Argentina

  21. awesome! i already did it like that with my dog but i always praise him while hes doing it… so now he doesnt do it on command he just stares at me while doing it as to say… buddy… gimme that cookie. another thing is, my dog always runs to the end of the leash and comes back to return position when he hits the end of it… so im gonna have to work my timing i guess.

  22. love your input thanks so much

  23. Great advice. Thank you.
