  1. You need to begin by making sure you take him out every hour or so. Puppies have to go WAY more than adults, especially when they don’t know that they have to eliminate outside! Whatever you do, do not use the puppy pads to housebreak him. You are only teaching him to go in the house – which defeats the purpose. He will soon be giving you signals that he needs to go, you just have to figure these signs out. It could be from pacing around the door that leads outside, to pacing in a circle and smelling around somewhere in the house. Either way, you have to be alert to his signals or he will not be properly trained. When you see him do either of these things, immediately take him outside. When he does go – praise praise praise!!! He will get the idea.

    Good luck!

  2. crate train them

  3. Crate traing is the best. Put them in it at night and when you aren’t home. Always take them out right after they wake up from a nap also. Remember to praise them alot when they do go outside and do not yell at them when they have an accident inside. Make sure to keep some carpet cleaner and pet deodorizer on hand cause depending on your puppy it might take a little bit for it to catch on. Good luck! =)

  4. set the kitchen timer and take her out almost every half hour. also when you leave put her in a cage. i took a bell and string and tied it to my back door and taught my dog to ring the bell when he wanted out. now 2 years later he still uses it sometimes. you could also use clicker training. that will help you with anything you want to teach her. you get a “clicker” and when she goes to the bathroom outside you click and give her a treat. eventually she will learn that a click means you get a treat. my dog still comes running when he hears that clicker and it has been over a year since i took him to obidence class. good luck i hope that helps

  5. Your puppy shouldn’t leave it’s mother until 8 weeks. Get a crate and crate train him.

  6. Keep in mind that a puppy’s bladder is very small. They will need to void/move their bowels after waking up, eating, and playing. To make it less confusing, take them to the same spot and say “Bathroom” or something along those lines. When they go, treat and praise. Just remember to be consistent. *It may also help to take them out through the same door… my dog now goes to the door and scratches on it.

    Be Patient!!
