This is a guard dog training video of attack training Alex the black German Shepherd. Earl Dunne is the handler and primary trainer. Alex is not finished with his attack dog training although bites very well. Excellent obedience training should always come before personal protection bite work. Although this dog isn’t old enough to do real guard dog work it is being prepared to do real protection work… sort of like sending a child to karate class. He will finish guard dog training at about 18 months old. Quality protection dog training takes patience, respect, and knowledge. If a dog is trained with yelling and intimidation…how do you expect them to do protection work on a yelling man? Beware of people who sell sport dogs (aka schutzhund trained dogs) as “personal protection dogs. Sport dogs are trained to look pretty doing specific protection routines on a training field and may be confused in a real situation when there is not a bite sleeve or protection suit to bite. Also these types of protection dogs are trained to take stick hits instead of avoiding them and attcking that arm. This is because you can’t hold the stick with an arm within sleeve and schutzhund is a sport that is meant to prove a dogs bravery and show they are worthy of breeding, therefore they are trained to take stick hits that are always used with a stick that won’t really hurt the dog and are always hit on safe spots of the body. This is setting the dog up for failer when they must fight a person for real that is planning on hitting them in the head with an iron bar. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the dog

I want to get a guard dog and I watched this video cuz I want to get an Idea of what breed of dog I should be looking for. I’m still debating rather if I want a german shepherd or a Labrador… I’d like some advice please. I want a good guard dog and I know that will take training as well but, I also want a good family dog too. I would like to know which one would be better: A Chocolate Lab or a German Shepherd…

Iclagu with proper training and genetics the dog will attack weapon or no weapon…no matter what is happening. But you can’t expect a dog to always do that without training. It takes socialization, good nerves, and tons and tons of training to get a dog like wanted. Trained to bite the bite objects, tugs, rags, sleeves first through prey drive….and through aggression later on after the dogs mentally mature and if stable….to bring out it’s civil drives
What if the intruder has a gun or any type of weapon? Can the dog still attack? Cause i really wanna get a guard dog.
i sometimes get my dogs to attack me like that, they’re German/Belgian Shepherds. i always think i’ll be able to stop them but end up screaming like a girl lol. it really hurts when they grab your back eventhough they’re only playing and not biting very hard!

wow..if people want to watch/get into dog fighting just put on a bite vest and teach your dog to chase you and bite you then you can laugh bcuz your “fighting” the dog as some of the dumbasses on this site think.

EXACTLY! A fighting dog but n order to have a good fighting dog u have to get it trained properly. Is that really that hard to get through someones head(obviously urs)?
yes it is because any type of dog or animal can attack you and with out a good fighting dog you can end up on thin ice understand
its so not the same but that is definetly not rite to dog fight
